Chapter History

The Zeta Omega chapter of Alpha Chi Omega at Western Carolina University was founded in Fall of 1985 originally as Delta Pi Delta, a local colony chapter. After doing extensive research on multiple sororities, and searching for values that reflected these young women's goal to create a new organization with high standards, Delta Pi Delta petitioned to Alpha Chi Omega to become a colony. A semester later, after hard work and dedication to seek the heights, the first group of over 20 women were initiated as full Alpha Chi Omega's, and a long history of tradition and excellence continues from there.

Alpha Chi Omega takes great pride in being a sisterhood of well-rounded, genuine and talented women who help make our organization unique and authentic. Founded on the basis of love, loyalty and friendship our sisters are individuals who have an undeniable passion for philanthropy, a notable presence on campus through leadership in various organizations and continually uphold high academic standards.

Zeta Omega is very proud to say that it is a recognized chapter from multiple perspectives. Zeta Omega has been recognized for it's hard work and dedication to better not only it's undergraduate women, but the community around them as well.
